Behavioral disorders are a series of behavioral and emotional problems that occur mostly in children and adolescents. Problems can involve challenging or impulsive behavior, drug use or criminal activity. It is also characterized by antisocial behaviors that violate the rights of others and age-appropriate social norms and standards.
Antisocial behaviors may include:
- Criminal behaviors (such as absenteeism and escape)
- Violate the rights of others (such as theft)
- Physical aggression against animals or others (such as assault and rape)
These behaviors usually occur together; however, one or more can occur without the other.
