Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a safe and effective treatment for all those patients who do not respond to traditional therapies and medication. ECT provides another option for the relief of severe depression and suicidal thoughts, among other conditions.

All patients referred to ECT must have a medical authorization before starting treatment. During the initial evaluation, our professionals will explain in detail the procedure and what to expect before, during and after the procedure.

Among the necessary information or data prior to treatment, are:

  • Referred by a psychiatrist
  • Psychiatric and / or substance abuse history
  • Brief medical history and symptoms
  • Allergies
  • Patient strengths
